About M&L Design Works

M&L Design Works is a web design and web marketing firm which focuses on straightforward designs for small businesses who are purchasing a web site for the first time. In addition to assisting with content, M&L Design Works offers marketing consultations and assists small businesses with using the web to promote their business. We design and maintain web sites of all types, including realtors, an attorney, churches, a quilt store, a restaurant and a gift shop.

M&L Design Works started in 1999, with one web site. The company has grown considerably over the years, but is still a privately-owned sole proprietorship. This means that customers receive the prompt, friendly and personal attention that they expect and deserve. M&L Design Works has designed and maintains numerous web sites and now offers Wedding Web Site services and hosting for personal and small business websites. We strive to provide excellent service at a reasonable price.

About Lisa Hacker, owner and designer

With the exception of the occasional potty break, Lisa Hacker, owner of M&L Design Works, has been sitting in front of a computer working since her family bought their first boxy Apple MacIntosh in the late 1980's. An early Internet user, (before graphic interface, even) she has extensive writing, editing and desktop publishing experience gained from working in the editing rooms of Delloitte and Touche and ECO Partners, an environmental education development firm. Lisa holds a Bachelor of English degree from the University of North Texas and an M ED. from The Ohio State University. She has been designing web sites for over nine years and founded M&L Design Works in November of 1999. A strong advocate of women in business, she works from a home office and home schools her three children. She encourages other moms to begin lucrative businesses at home to help balance the equally important but sometimes difficult tasks of producing adequate income and raising happy children.
